Hello my name is Katie Hensley and I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I started riding in West Virginia under a previous advanced level eventer as well as traveling to Lexington, KY to ride with Maggie Wright of Champagne Run for years. While I was attending the University of Kentucky I worked closely with Maggie Wright of Champagne Run Farm. At Champagne Run I had the opportunity to ride a variety of training horses of all levels, compete sale horses, as well as assist with teaching lessons. Maggie helped me find my current eventing partner, Boots, who had no previous eventing experience. While at Champagne Run, I was able to take him from the novice level to the preliminary level. After leaving Champagne Run I was a working student for one season with four star level eventer Bonnie Mosser. With Bonnie I was able to compete in my first two FEI events; a CCI one star in the fall, and a CIC one star the following spring. The next winter I had the opportunity to be a working student for four star eventer Missy Ransenhousen in Ocala, FL. With Missy I was able to work on preparing my horse for the intermediate level as well as riding a variety of client horses. While at Antebellum I successfully moved my horse up to the Intermediate level. My goal with my horse this year is to have a confident season at the Intermediate level and work towards a CIC two star and a CCI two star. I’m excited for the opportunity to grow at Antebellum and looking forward to helping clients reach their goals; whether it is a competition goals or riding for pleasure. So come be a part of the Antebellum team and we can all help each other reach our goals.
